As you may have see in Tuesday’s Stash and here on Wednesday, I revisted the ol’ “how many unique Twitter followers” question I tackled last year.

This time around, however, I did things a little bit differently. Instead of just looking at user ID’s, I also looked at their location. Using a few rules and logic to extract the details I needed, I was able to identify the home state or province of nearly 550,000 resort Twitter followers.

So, when you group followers by their location, which resort is most popular in each province? Take a look (click for a larger version and for the province-by-province details below the image):

A Little Deeper
As I pulled these numbers I started with New England and worked my way through the industry. What was interesting was how the map looked when I limited it to just New England resorts.

So, I did the same thing limiting the analysis only to resorts within specific regions of the North America.

SOUTHEAST

MIDWEST

CANADA

Turns out not a lot of folks in Northern Canada are big fans of US resorts.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
