Visit Thredbo’s homepage, scroll about halfway down, and you’ll see this.

Two links to what they call “Guides”.

  • The first for beginners
  • The second for families

Each starts with high level highlights of the resort (views, location, etc.) before getting into more specific things that each of these types of visitors might be curious about (learning to ski, dining, stuff for kids, etc.).

Here’s the one for beginners.

And the one for families:

The host is confident, the storyboard is well-planned, and the quality is extremely high. For a one-off video these might be harder to justify, but for content like this that Thredbo can reuse over and over again for years to come? That’s a really smart way to spend some budget.

The Market

But my favorite thing of all is how well Thredbo seem to understand their market and then make this tailored-content as visible as possible to this group.

They aren’t just assuming that folks are already sold on visiting Thredbo, they’re proactively getting in front of these visitors with beautifully-delivered copy that gets people more interested (if they already were) or thinking about a trip (if they weren’t before).

To my friends downunder, nice work. Keep it up and fingers crossed your season finishes well.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
