Simple. Clever. Those were the two words that came to mind when I stumbled across Copper Mountain’s “Snow Day” Facebook tab. A simple app with some basic flash programming that truly connects with every skier and boarder.

It has five groovy features:

1) Awaken Your Awesome
In the retro style of Copper this year, you can upload a photo of yourself in your preferred retro ski gear for the world to see.

2) Win a Tricked Out ’70s Ford Fiesta
Who wouldn’t want to win?

3) Ski Patrol Name Generator
Mine was Gregg “Stache It” Blanchard. I’m on my way to the social security office to make it official.

4) Snow Day Soundboard
The perfect arsenal for faking sick: coughs, sneezes, throat clears, you name it.

5) Snow Day Downloads
A custom doctor’s note, snowballs, and snowflakes for when the big day comes.

Love it. Overall, it’s extremely simple, some Flash and retro design. In the end, it has that quality that says, “yeah, people will understand and love this because it connect on that basic level with the user.” Well done, Copper.

Sincerely,

Gregg “Stache It” Blanchard

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
