Photography
I want more photos like the ones Wild Mountain recently shared.

One of the things I love most about photo journalism is the way a well-framed, well-lit, well-timed photo can make something rough are raw look beautiful.

While we often focus on highlighting the natural beauty around skiing, that’s only half the story.

But the messy details behind the scenes can scare away resort content or photo people from sharing the realities because it’s a bit of a contrast to the rest of their stories. After all, a message garage is just a messy garage…right?

Wild Mountain
I love photos of things besides skiing because it fills out the story of skiing. It gives the skiing more meaning and depth.

And this recent gallery that Wild Mountain shared on Twitter? Man, it’s some of my favorite in that genre.

I’ve never seen a series of resort photos that enokes that photo-journalistic emotion of looking compelling while also looking real as much as these photos.

It’s real, but it’s beautiful in a raw, human sort of way.

More, Please
Awesome job from Wild Mountain. I’d love to see more just like this.

Not just because I love the style, but I’d love to see more of the resort and people and story through a similar style of visual.

Great stuff.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
