The majority of resort email templates include social icons. And while the effectiveness of these icons isn’t exactly off the charts, it’s a simple way to use one channel to push folks toward another.
But what about the other way around?
Rarer than it should be, Winterplace has been running a simple promotion to address that.
Step 1: A Contest
Every Friday in July, Winterplace is running a simple sweepstakes. The winner of each giveaway receives 2 lift, lesson, and rental packages.
Step 2: An Entry Form
Next, there’s the entry form. But take a closer look at this entry form and you’ll notice that it’s not some random form software, it’s a form hosted and generated by their email marketing platform, Emma.
Step 3: Social Promotion
Then, throughout each week Winterplace simply promotes this giveaway on social media including an announcement of the winners.
We're picking another winner on Friday! Make sure to enter. https://t.co/GlUkpnMrQo pic.twitter.com/TcBtwg31Us

Summer
Winterplace doesn’t have as much summer marketing to do as other resorts, so a nice bonus benefit of this campaign is simply keeping their audience engaged throughout the warmer months.
So not only do their built their email list, they keep their other channels in good shape as well going into the fall.
Good stuff.
