After sharing a collection of season recap videos a few weeks ago I, once again, realized how few I’d actually seen once folks started sending my the ones I’d missed.
First, now how much I appreciate that. I hate the unnavoidable fact that I only see a very small portion of the marketing in this industry. The people who take the time to keep me in the loop about the stuff I can’t see from my desk in Utah are incredibly appreciated.
This time, however, more than just another list of videos, I was told about one that really spoke to me which I’ll talk more about later this week.
It was Stowe’s.
It looks like the others, it may feel like the others, but I want to point out a wo nuanced differences that I really, really liked.
People’s Favorites
It wasn’t the resort’s highlights, it was a recap of the favorite moments of two people. I keep landing on this simplicity and power of this idea that we typically only reserve for testimonials or quotes. Lots of videos talked about great moments, but they were framed as the resort’s favorites not a person’s.
Same Voices
And those voices are the snow reporters, the same ones loyal Stowe guests listened to and trusted and they experienced this winter. They started this season’s story, they kept it going, and they finished it. A GM or Marketing Director or anyone could have narrated this video, but I love it was the people who narrated the 151 days before it as well.
Changes
This video was a fitting, fun sendoff as the Vail chapter opens in this corner of Vermont.
I’m going to stop there for a few reasons, but there are some big changes coming to SlopeFillers in the coming days and weeks that have a lot to do with this video and post.
Stay tuned.
