You know how I love me some data and you know how I love me some tools. So, it should be no surprise that I’ve built my first tool that uses all those skier visit number you helped me gather to provide some simple analysis for resorts who use social media in their marketing.

The idea is simple, stick in your resort’s annual skier visits, choose which resort you are from (there is a check box that will let you make your data private so it isn’t added to the database) and you’ll get an analysis that shows you:

  • What percentage of resorts like yours are on any one of 8 different social networks
  • How many fans/followers/etc. resorts likes yours that are on that network have on average
  • Some daily metrics that shows either what they’re putting into or getting out of that site
  • Your own averages and perfrormance listed below those averages to see how you stack up

The goal is simply to help resorts make better decisions about their social media strategy by seeing what their peers are doing and getting out of different sites. The one things I’d ask is that you only use it a couple times a day. The backend isn’t super robust and the calls to geneate the reports are fairly intensive. Thanks!

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
