There are many reasons marketers end up freelancing. Maybe that’s the path they’ve chosen, maybe they’re underemployed, or perhaps recent layoffs or furloughs left them on the outside looking in.

Whatever the reason, two things are true.

Best Skills in the Biz
First, this group is amazingly talented. They’re some of the best marketing minds and doers in the biz. Even in the case of layoffs, trimming a marketing team rarely if ever has anything to do with talent.

Super Hard to Find Clients
But as a freelancer, finding new clients is an all-consuming task. Even while you’re enjoying an exciting project, the reality of that contact ending looms large. You always have to be on the lookout for new gigs.

Freelancing in 2021
Due to Covid-19 and other layoffs, more resorts need part time talent and more resort marketers are freelancing than we’ve seen in a long time.

So, today, I’m officially launching something to address this.

My hope is simply that resorts will have better access to this talent and these freelancers will spend a little less time looking for paid work and a little more time doing paid work.

Introducing: SlopeFillers Freelancers
In the sidebar of SlopeFillers you will now see a Freelancers link. Listed on that page is a group of 18 (and growing) of these super talented folks who are available for freelancer work.

If you’re at a resort, I’d encourage you to check the Freelancers page often. The list is already packed with top-tier talent and is growing quickly.

If you’re a freelancer with resort marketing skills, use this form to get yourself added to the page. Getting listed is free.

This project is simple, but I hope it makes a difference.

If you have any ideas for how to make it better, bigger, or more effective, I’m all ears. Just shoot me an email – contact@slopefillers.com – and let’s jam.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
