App Platform Name:
CarteScape

Description:
“We provide resorts with official apps loaded with features for skiers and provide resort management with an online dashboard for a range of data analytics on guest preferences and behavior. We also quickly customize our platform for each resort and integrate seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure to facilitate e-commerce transactions. Beyond standard elements, (augmented reality, run stats, etc.), unique user features include child tracking/boundaries, integration with Facebook/Twitter accounts for easy social sharing, multiple foreign language options, gaming/badges/public hall of fame-style rankings, and the ability to locate friends/set up meeting points on the mountain. Through our proprietary location based marketing engine, resort management will have unique tools to tailor messages and promotions based on guest preferences and historical behavior. This relationship building on and off-season, we believe, increases loyalty and skier days on the mountain.”

Why They’re Different:
“Far from just an app, the CarteScape mobile platform is an app front end facilitating a profound user experience coupled with an analytics and location based marketing engine. As avid skiers, we designed the app to provide expected functionality in addition to unique elements that make the app more engaging and fun to use. Our unique family features such as child tracking and boundary setting provide peace of mind to parents. We view mobile as a fast moving trend and have organized our platform as an integral part of the resorts marketing toolkit. So, we came at this from a marketing and resort perspective first, followed by designing a world-class app to motivate user engagement, utilization and a really fun experience. Providing the user with a challenge through our gaming/hall of fame features provides for a competitive element that we believe is missing from many available apps. Finally, our e-commerce functionality includes lift tickets, lodging, ski school & rentals.”

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
