I love ski lifts. A lot. And I like ski history. A lot.

So when I got my hands on a single chair a few years back, you can bet that my refurbishing plans called for stained wood slats and a classic color. The debate was between green and red. Red won.

Now, usually lift upgrades come with a price tag with a long line of zeros at the end. But when Wild Mountain wanted to give their mountain a fresh feel, they turned a similar style to make this happen. One with a decidedly smaller price tag.

Specifically, they decided to add stained oak slats to their chairlifts.

I dig this move.

It’s simple, it’s different, it’s a perfect direction at a time when a lot of skiers are longing for simpler times and less corporate skiing.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
