Summer is nearly upon us, and so is another drop in the increase in Twitter followers for the last month. From 5.12% at the April update, that number was cut in half this time around. It didn’t mean that everyone slowed, however, with resorts that are still opening snagging 6%+ growth on their follower counts. Here’s all the details of the May 2011 update of the Top 25 Ski Resorts on Twitter list.

Movers

  • Snowbird, backed by a record snow year and being the only resort open in the state, snagged a 6.31% increase in their follower count
  • Whistler Blackcomb, as usual, continues to amaze, snagging more than 1000 new followers (a 6.66% increase) since the last update.
  • Average growth for a Top 25 resort’s follower count was 2.70%
  • The average number of followers gained was 321.5.

All the Changes
Just four changes to report.

  • Snowbird (+3)
  • Canyons (-1)
  • Killington (-1)
  • Winter Park (-1)

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
