Three Must Reads from Peers in the World of Resort Marketing

Gregg Blanchard   /

Sometimes, I have really brilliant things to say. Okay, every once in a while. Maybe “rarely” is the right word there. Luckily, there are people that do have great things to say and say them.

I could hassle them to reformat their ideas for SlopeFillers as a guest post, but they’ve got sites of their own and probably like seeing the referred traffic spike in their analytics resports as much as I do (and believe me, they’ll see a spike once this post goes live…that’s a joke). Here they are:

“How Instagram is Changing Visual Storytelling for Events”
Dave Amirault – Aspen/Snowmass
A great recap of the Food & Wine Classic at Aspen where over 1,000 instagram photos were generated, how Aspen took advantage, and what that means for events in the future.

“The Paradox of Choice”
Troy Thompson – Travel2Dot0
A great look at the use of social icons in places where acting on them is both incredibly difficult but also distracting from the main focus on the creative.

“A Vacation from Social Can Be Good for You”
Jeff Werkheiser – Keystone
Jeff spends his day immersed in social media for Keystone, so I found this recap really insightful of a vacation away from the profiles he feels so close to. Some great advice at the end for other social media managers.

P.S. – I’m a big fan or resort marketers’ blogs and getting different perspectives. If you have one and are willing to share, please let me know.
