I love short films. Let me just get that bias out there now. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I’ve always felt that elegant, clean cinematography combined with sharp editing, good flow, and simple music is worth millions.

Ski movies are famous for their teaser “trailers” they release right around this time of year to build excitement for the upcoming season and to set their movie apart from the rest. These movies are experiential and we skiers can almost feel the snow under our feet as we watch, vicariously dropping the same cliffs and lines they do on the screen.

Wouldn’t it make sense that a ski resort could also benefit from having a trailer? Highlights of seasons past and a look forward to what is to come? Giving skiers and boarders a chance to picture themselves on their favorite runs again, riding the lift up with friends, and enjoying a powder day?

I really am having a hard time finding a flaw with this type of trailer. Thoughts?

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
