Snowbird’s Awesome Marketing Promo Video…from 1987

There is a lot going on in the resort marketing world, but sometimes I just want to post something cool and/or fun. This is both. Snowbird’s VP of Resort Operations, Dave Fields, shared this recently and it completely made my day. I’ll keep the word count short to give you time to enjoy the awesomeness.

Highlights:

• Anything in the gym with the 80’s workout clothes
• Selling the foot and arm rests on the lifts
• The story – two business people from opposite sides of the country finding love the slopes
• How their cutting edge skis are now part of cheap ski furniture
• Zero mention of price, it’s all about the experience
• The clip from the ski lesson: priceless

I honestly love this video. At fifteen minutes long, it makes me wonder if a movie filmed at such a casual pace would keep the attention of today’s skiers. Either way, pretty awesome stuff.
