It’s been a busy week for me with me and my fellow Inntopians becoming part of Outside Interactive, but I did want to quickly share a campaign I saw this week that I felt was really simple, but really, really smart.

There’s something I’ve said dozens of times but I’m going to say again because it only gets more and more true. Social medial has made it so the pictures people can take during an activity play a huge role in which activities people decide to do. Even if pictures aren’t the reason they do the activity, taking great pictures during that activity are extremely important to humans in 2025.

So as much as we try to optimize the rest of the guest experience, helping them take create pictures should absolutely be part of that strategy.

That’s why I love this campaign from an influencer visiting Winter Park. This person – who is really good at creating compelling content – is sharing five tips for others to create their own amazing content while visiting the resort. This is brilliant, but notice the more specific elements of their tips.

  1. Location – this is the obvious one, but it’s more than vistas, it’s things like the gondola.
  2. Angle – less obvious but equally important is sharing fun, unique angles to frame the moment
  3. Action/Pose – they’ve also included ideas for what to do / how to pose

People post content to share what they’re doing, yes, but they also post to feel good about what they’re doing in the eyes of their peers. Like all content creators, they want those likes and comments. Great pics and videos help them achieve that and influencers know how to play that game better than anyone. Which makes this little Instagram post pack a surprisingly powerful punch for modern skiers and travelers.

Good stuff.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
