There are so many clever campaigns out there that I need to do a little catch up today. That said, I’d love to ask a question of everyone. I’ve done a few of these lately, but there is an alternative where I just make each one a separate post rather than a bunch in one post.

Do you have a preference either way? Let me know.

Okay, onward with today’s cool collection of campaign creativity.

1) Sundance Podcast

Sundance’s new Outlaws & Outtakes podcast is really well done. This is one where it’s probably worth a separate post, but the stories are top notch, the production is solid, and I’d wager they’re getting some solid engagement with the Sundance faithful.

2) Jay’s Goatscaping

Is this a marketing campaign? In my book, anything that gives the marketing team a great story to tell is a marketing campaign, so testing out goats as a pre-season mowing device? Yeah, that’s a great marketing campaign regardless of how effective they ended up being.

3) Canaan Valley “Snowmaking”

I admire every resort employee who goes on camera, it’s not easy. But some folks have a bit more of a knack for being natural in front of the lens than others. Mark, supported by some great editing, does a great job of telling a fun, simple story that just made me smile.

4) Bogus’ Pass Reminder

Making sure skiers are ready for the season is always an important effort to undertake to avoid someone waiting in an opening day lift line only to be turned away because of a yet-to-be-activated pass. With Bogus’ change in setup, this is becoming even more likely which makes this fun, clever campaign a nice arrow in the quiver they can use to avoid this exact scenario. It’s a really smart addition to their all the emails and alerts they’ll likely also send this fall about this transition.

Like I said, if you’d rather see these as a feed of individual posts versus collections, let me know. I’m considering trying that but just thinking through the logistics and would love some feedback.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
