Over the last 4 years, I’ve sent almost a quarter million Social7 emails. It’s been a great project.

The only problem is that I wasn’t ever built for that kind of volume.

Partly because, along the way, I created a way to add non-resort profiles. On the surface, it was a great idea and many of you did use it. But that feature has also been (ab)used by hundreds of profiles and users with no relationship to skiing at all.

New Kid on the Block
As I tried to fix that one thing, another part broke. And another. So I went back to the drawing board, got a lot of feedback from all of you and made sure that if I did build something new it actually fit what you wanted.

Here’s what I came up with.

IMPORTANT: Please note that if you had any custom profiles in your old Social7 report you will NOT get this new report until you sign into your account and change that setting. If you still need custom profiles, send me an email (contact@slopefillers.com) and I’ll let you know what your options are.

Also, keep in mind that I’m still playing with delivery times for these reports so they may not come until 10-11am MT.

First, more metrics.
Instead of just growth, I’ve included posting rate and engagement (or some equivalent) for each site.

Second, more sites.
The next thing you’ll notice is that reports now include not just Twitter and Facebook, but Instagram and YouTube as well.

Eventually I’ll have much more than this (hopefully), but for this season I’m going to start with that list and see how it goes.

Third, responsive.
Finally, the big piece I wanted to tackle was making these new reports responsive.

social7-3

This was tougher than I thought it would be. For example, in a big week resorts might get as many as 100,000 YouTube views. You can’t fit three 100,000s side by side on a mobile device, so I had to shorten longer numbers to 20K, 100K, etc.

The report is full of a lot of tiny changes like that. Fun challenge, but a tricky one.

Put it All Together
Put all of this together and you’ll end up with something like this.

If you have an account, I’d highly recommend you sign in and check your settings to make sure your report is set up the way you want.

If you haven’t created an account, you can do that here.

Enjoy.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
