  1. I realize that this is , as you noted, purely based on followers so of course the bigger the resort the easier to get on top of the list. Id love to see something that incorporates followers with amount of tweets and most importantly interaction with followers. Whistler may have the most followers but with only 675 tweets it just tells me they have lots of followers who arent getting much information/interaction. I would bet that the few smaller resorts that made the list have many followers because they interact with people and dont just tweet snow reports and ticket/discount packages.

  2. burritosandsnow, great point! For years I've tried to find a way to rank Twitter accounts on other factors (the ratio I included for each one is a simple way I've found to illustrate how many people are REALLY following someone) but am struggling to find something that factors in all those criteria you mentioned like interactions, tweets that are retweeted, etc. not to mention tracking and compiling those numbers

Any ideas of formulas you've seen out there that you feel accurately reflect the true value of a Twitter account?

  3. Eric says:

You could look at using one of the “rating tools” like Klout or Grader, but I’m not sure that they would be the way to reflect the true value of a Twitter account because that really goes back to what the account is intended to do. Is it for customer service, offering services or specials, providing information, to engage with others or something else?

In any case, it’s always nice to see someone else writing about ski resort marketing and on that topic,I think you might enjoy my list of Ski Resorts Online Presence – cheers!

  4. Eric, thanks for the ideas and feedback as well as link!

Isn’t ski resort marketing wonderful? I’ve been collecting and analyzing bits of ski marketing for a while and figured I might as well make it public and see if some discussions could start. I was happy to find your site along the way and read much of. Maybe as a fellow Utahn I should have named mine GreggInLogan ;)

    Thanks again!
