With a handful of new (or somewhat new) map products crossing my desk as of late, I’m giving five such bits of tech a chance to tell their story this week.

1) Map Product Name
vicoMap HTML 5 (beta)

2) Description
Cloud based platform ski resorts use to embed HTML 5 interactive trail, village, golf and lodging maps, (plus operational data) into their responsive web pages.

3) How It’s Different
Being an cloud based content management system, vicoMap give resorts the ability to make edits their maps at anytime, saving them time and costs. It’s also part of a larger platform that does things like – transmitting live lift status & grooming maps to digital signage displays, along with a snow/lift & grooming Reporter interface that shares its XML data with displays, apps, web sites and 3rd parties. All using a web browser.

4) Resort Clients
Breckenridge, Squaw, Northstar, Mammoth, Sierra, Alpine Meadows, Aspen, Stratton, Winter Park, Big Sky, Loon, Sunday River, Coronet Peak (these are switching over to vicoMap HTML 5 over summer).

5) Screenshots / Videos
vicoMap screen shot

7) What to Do if Interested

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
