I’m in Vermont for some much-needed office time with the rest of the Inntopia team and have sorely neglected my email, so as I sit in the Burlington airport I’ve realized that not one, not two, but five new jobs have been posted to the job board and needed to be approved.

But I’m also coming off some deep thoughts about career, work, and life, so if you’re interested in these jobs you’re gonna get a quick blast of advice before you do. Specifically, two things.

First, every boss is taking a chance when they hire you. You are not entitled to this job, you have been given a great opportunity to do something at a company that needs to be done. So stay humble, stay grateful, and hustle your brains out to do that job you hired for. The time will come for you to share big ideas, but for now, just put your head down and do the work.

Second, stick around. It’s gonna take you a year or two to really master the product, the market, the message, and the systems in place for marketing to work with the rest of the company. Don’t hop off right when you hit the year mark, give it a couple more years of firing on all cylinders first.

Okay, all done. Here are the new jobs. As always, the full list is available on the job board.

About Gregg & SlopeFillers
I've had more first-time visitors lately, so adding a quick "about" section. I started SlopeFillers in 2010 with the simple goal of sharing great resort marketing strategies. Today I run marketing for resort ecommerce and CRM provider Inntopia, my home mountain is the lovely Nordic Valley, and my favorite marketing campaign remains the Ski Utah TV show that sold me on skiing as a kid in the 90s.
